Aloha Kams’ Society Members,
Time sure flies when you’re having fun…. Where did the year go? It seems like just yesterday it was the start of summer and now we’re into the holiday season. Halloween is in full swing, and I’ve already seen Christmas decorations being set up in some stores and malls.
Some of the highlights that happened from our last newsletter included participating in the United Chinese Society Annual Picnic in August and our annual Palolo Chinese Home visitation. Lynette, Lisa, and I also attended several society banquets enjoying fellowship with other society leaders. Our newest committee, “Geneology” has sparked a lot of interest, and a meeting will be held soon. To finish the year, please join us for our Christmas Party and Installation on Sunday, December 7 (see attached flyer).
A few days ago, I attended a Leadership Summit sponsored by the United Chinese Society with fellow Presidents from other societies. It was an open forum where we not only shared our challenges but also our solutions. The biggest takeaway was that all societies face the same challenge – recruitmentand participation of our younger members. Further summits to discuss this andother topics will be scheduled for 2026.
If you know of anyone who meets the requirements to be a member of theKams’ Society, please ask them to join. If you have changes to your personal information (address, phone number, e-mail), please email our Membership Chair, Jocelyne Chun so we can update our membership file, and you can keep informed on future Kams’ Society events.
Finally, as my term ends, it has been a pleasure serving as your President for the last two years. Thank you to the Board for your support and willingness to serve. Your responsiveness and enthusiasm made my job so easy. A very heartfelt thank you to Lynette, Lisa, and Jocelyne for your hard work and dedication as Vice President. And finally thank you to all the members of Kams’ Society – it has truly been a pleasure and an honor. I humbly ask thatyou continue to show your support to the new Officers and Board as they lead the society in 2026.
See you soon!
